The Grupo Desportivo e Recreativo Textáfrica de Chimoio will face Clube Ferroviário da Beira in a friendly match this Sunday at the Soalpo field. The main objective of this encounter is to prepare both teams for the 2024 edition of the National First Division Football Championship, also known as Moçambola, which is scheduled to begin on April 20th.
This match, which will be held at the Soalpo field, will be the first of the sporting season and will serve as a test for the natural grass pitch, which was recently inspected by the Mozambican Football Federation and League.
Textáfrica de Chimoio's head coach, Abdul Omar, acknowledges that Ferroviário da Beira, the current national champion, is the favorite for the game. However, Omar emphasized that his team is determined to win, despite it being a friendly match.
“It’s true that Ferroviário da Beira has a physical advantage, but we are focused on having a good training session. We want to work hard to achieve our goals,” said Abdul Omar in an interview with RM Desporto.
This friendly match offers a valuable opportunity for both teams to fine-tune their strategies and test their players before the start of the 2024 Moçambola season. With both teams demonstrating strong determination and commitment, an exciting match is expected at the Soalpo field this Sunday.
