A young woman from the municipality of Matola, in the Khongolote neighborhood. Among the various challenges that artists face in the music field, Tanya Chilaule, in an interview with Apathany, spoke about some of these challenges, mentioning issues such as music promotion and funding as some of the biggest obstacles for artists struggling to enter the music market.
“There are many challenges, but promotion and funding have been very difficult,” said Tanya Chilaule, speaking about some of the challenges she has faced in the music world. However, she believes that in her musical genre, Gospel, there is a green light at the end of the tunnel; according to her, the current direction of the genre is inspiring. “In the field I'm in, I believe we are taking the first steps towards success. I believe that's inspiring,” she stated.
Interestingly, the journalist asked about Tanya Chilaule's inspiration and some artists she admires; unfortunately, there are no Mozambicans on that list. “I make Gospel music, initially using the Bible and my own life as sources of inspiration. However, there are artists I appreciate: Jackeline Carr, Sinach, Tasha Cobbs, and Mercy Chinwo.” It's clear from afar that with this inspiration, Tanya's success in music is certain.
