Kamané Kamas is starting a project to bring to light the stories of some of the voices that stood out in the peaceful marches.

From one Mozambican to another, Kamané Kamas brings the stories of some individuals who, after the peaceful marches that took place throughout the country, gained prominence in the national media with their different forms of intervention.

“Today we begin an important exercise in listening. It’s time to give voice to all those who, directly or indirectly, were present at the demonstrations. We want to know, with open hearts, what marks were left, what stories need to be told, and what wounds still need healing. ❤️” Wrote Kamané Kamas.

In a Mozambique still undergoing development, Kamané Kamas brings mostly stories of Mozambican women who, before the marches, were ordinary people in society, but after their prominence in the marches, may have new stories to tell. “We recognize that many were touched by painful actions, generated by a force that, unfortunately, exceeded the limits of respect. We know that some felt fear, others sadness, and many a profound disillusionment. Today, we are here to listen and embrace these experiences. 🤲🇲🇿” states Kamané Kamas while sharing some moments from the interviews on social media.

For the singer and MC, the project aims to build bridges and create space for reconciliation. “Our mission as a nation is to build bridges and open doors to reconciliation. We ask if there is room for forgiveness – if the Mozambican heart, so strong and resilient, can transform pain into a new beginning. 🇲🇿🕊️” He stated, concluding by speaking about the importance of these voices having their space to share their reflections after this difficult period for the country.

“Know that your words are important, they are an essential part of our country's growth process. Together, with love and respect, we will continue to build the Mozambique we all desire. 🇲🇿💪” concluded Kamané Kamas.
