Ferroviário de Maputo wins the first leg of the second qualifying round for the CAF group stage against Sagrada Esperança.

It is grammatically correct to say this. It was a narrow victory, with the goal scored 2 minutes from the 90th minute by Mário, who came off the bench and made the difference in the dying moments, securing an advantage for the next round.

A very evenly matched game, with both teams battling for possession in midfield. The first half was uneventful, lacking much spectacle, with Ferroviário de Maputo attempting to exploit Sagrada Esperança's shortcomings, a strategy that didn't bring much benefit to Ferroviário de Maputo. The score at halftime was 0-0.

The second half began with Sagrada Esperança in control for the first 15 minutes, creating some scares for the Ferroviário de Maputo goal. But the Locomotive team quickly woke up and adopted a different formation, creating danger in front of the Sagrada Esperança goal, but without managing to score the much-desired goal. João Chissano, coach of Ferroviário de Maputo, made a change to his formation, bringing on Mário in the center forward position. A well-timed substitution that, in the last two minutes, had the desired effect: the winning goal for the Locomotive team, who will go to Angola with a one-goal advantage.
