FMF WILL SPEND 5.5 MILLION METICAIS ON PRIZES

With the prize money divided according to the number of games each player participated in during the qualifying phase for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the Mozambican Football Federation will spend 5,661,200 Meticais to reward all 40 players.

That's 2,250,000 Meticais for each of the nine players who were in all six games of the campaign, plus another 1,456,000 Meticais for the seven who participated in five games, 499,200 Meticais for the three who were in four games, 374,400 Meticais for the three athletes who were called up for three games, 707,200 Meticais that will be divided among the nine players who participated in two games, plus 374,400 Meticais that will be given to the other nine Mambas who were called up for only one game.

The Mozambican Football Federation has already confirmed that the bonuses will start being deposited into the players' accounts from this week, so as to avoid a similar uproar to that of the Algerian CHAN tournament.

According to the head of the House of Football, this bonus was agreed upon with the captains at the very beginning of the CAN qualifying campaign.

However, the governing body of Mozambican football has appealed to more institutions, companies and individuals to join their efforts in increasing player bonuses, as a way to motivate the Mambas who will compete in the African Cup of Nations in January and February of next year in Ivory Coast.

Before the final stage, the Mambas will have six more official matches, namely two in October, during the FIFA international break for CHAN qualifying matches, another two in November, for World Cup qualifying, and two more in December, for the second qualifying round for CHAN.
