Training sessions kicked off today at the Black Bulls field in Tchumene at 9:30 am. The session initially included only athletes who train internally. National coach Chiquinho Conde led a light training session focused on the athletes' recovery, especially those who were in action with their respective teams during the weekend at the ZAP Mozambique Cup.
According to the schedule provided by the FMF, the Mambas will hold their second training session on Tuesday at 9:30 am at the Zimpeto National Stadium, in preparation for this decisive match. On Wednesday, the national team will return to the well-maintained pitch at Black Bulls to continue their preparation. On Thursday and Friday, Chiquinho Conde's chosen players will train at the match venue.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday, Mozambican internationals playing abroad are expected to begin arriving in Maputo and joining their teammates for the preparatory cycle. Yesterday, Bruno Langa and Ricardo Guimarães, players for Chaves in Portugal, were involved in the match in which their team lost to Moreirense, 2-1. Meanwhile, Geny Cartamo was part of Sporting's squad for the match against Braga.
Also noteworthy is Witi Quembo, a left-footed player for Nacional da Madeira, who scored (45+1) in his team's 2-1 victory against Vilaverdense.
Also on Sunday, Clésio Baúque was brought on in the 76th minute for the game in which Honka FC beat KTP Kotka by one goal to nil.
The Mambas only need a draw to qualify, thirteen years later, for the African Cup of Nations. In case of victory, it is known that each player should receive a monetary value of 70,000 Meticais, corresponding to the match bonus defined at the start of this campaign. The Mozambican Football Federation has expressed its openness to receiving support from partners to increase the match bonus.
