Valter Artístico joins AMVIRO to promote road safety in Mozambique

The Mozambican Association for Victims of Road Accidents (AMVIRO) announced today, April 17, 2025, the official inclusion of renowned Mozambican singer Valter Artístico as an active member of the organization. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Brazil-Mozambique Cultural Center in Maputo.

Valter Artístico, who survived a serious traffic accident in 2024—a tragedy that significantly impacted Mozambican youth—now plays a key role in promoting road safety education, with a special focus on youth and fostering civic awareness on the roads.

The collaboration between Valter and AMVIRO marks the beginning of a new phase in the cultural and social movement for road safety, where art becomes a tool for raising awareness. The artist is committed to using his visibility to mobilize society around concrete prevention and education actions.

During the event, AMVIRO took the opportunity to call for caution on the roads, especially during Holy Week, which this year coincides with a long weekend. The association also reported a positive assessment of its participation in the Kofi Annan Road Safety Awards, held on April 14th and 15th in the Kingdom of Eswatini, in partnership with the United Nations.

At a time when health and well-being are gaining prominence in prevention actions, AMVIRO reinforces the importance of conscious choices, both in driving and in eating.
