União Desportiva do Songo (UDS) does not accept the 1-1 draw against league leaders Black Bulls in a match valid for the 8th round of the championship. This Friday, the team intensified its protests by releasing two videos that, according to them, prove crucial refereeing errors that directly influenced the outcome of the match.
The videos focus on two specific incidents that occurred inside the penalty area. In the first, J. Banda falls during a challenge with Kadri. In the second, Emanuel is brought down in a challenge with Armando. In both situations, UDS alleges that there were infractions that should have resulted in penalties in their favor, but which were ignored by the refereeing team.
The release of the videos follows a three-page statement issued yesterday by UDS, in which the team already expressed its dissatisfaction with the refereeing. In the document, UDS questions the impartiality of the decisions made during the match and denounces what it considers unfair treatment.
The controversy reflects a frequent issue in football: the influence of refereeing decisions on match results. By taking its complaints public, UDS is trying to pressure Mozambican football authorities to review the incidents and take measures to ensure sporting justice.
To date, the Mozambican Football League has not officially commented on the videos and UDS's protests. The team hopes that its actions will elicit a response from the competent authorities and a review of the controversial plays.
