The project, initiated in 2022 to celebrate Craveirinha's centenary, has already been performed on various stages in Maputo, including the Municipality, the Musicians' Association, the Writers' Association, the Mafalala Festival, restaurants such as Boske and El Patron, the TMCel Auditorium, and the UEM Cultural Center. According to D'Manyissa, it is an ongoing initiative, without an expiration date, that seeks to keep the memory of the poet's works alive, combining poetry and music.

“The project consists of selecting poems by José Craveirinha and composing music for each one. It’s an interesting way to invite the audience to read the works of Mozambique’s greatest poet,” explains D’Manyissa. The tribute features excellent instrumentalists, such as Nicolau Cauaneque on keyboards and Amade Cossa on percussion, and performers like Helena Rosa and Kayena Xihiwa, members of Majescoral.

Among the poems set to music are: Grito Negro, No Outro Tempo, Eternos Sagazes, Timbileiros, Poema do Futuro Cidadão and Sementeira, among others. The project aims to value and disseminate Mozambican literature, with a positive impact on audiences who appreciate poetry and music.

The public can enjoy a pleasant moment in the Sommershield Garden (Garden Grill), with an entrance fee of 1,000 Mts, including wine tasting or the purchase of books for the same price. The books available will be from the publishers Alcance Editora, Gala-Gala Edições, Inter-Escolas, Catálogus, and The Bookshelf.

The full day's program includes various activities, with doors opening at 10 am, featuring workshops, literary gatherings, conversation circles, sensory experiences, and sound meditation, culminating at 6 pm with a tribute to D'Manyissa, followed by live music with Eddy Dimande, networking sessions, and a closing performance with DJ Daroque Tchil Out.

D'Manyissa emphasizes that the tribute is also a way to value Mozambican culture present in Craveirinha's poems, bringing to light experiences and realities of the country. For the audience, the experience promises to combine the sensitivity of poetry with the energy of music, in a welcoming and culturally rich environment.
