Stewart Sukuma, one of the most respected names in Mozambican music, celebrates another year of life today. With a career spanning over four decades, the artist stands out not only for his musical talent, but also for his commitment to culture, youth, and social causes.

Born in March 25, 1963, Born in Cuamba, Niassa province, and raised in Quelimane, Stewart built a solid career that began in 1982, when he stood out as a vocalist and composer. Still early in his career, he won the Ngoma Award for Best National Performer in 1983, a milestone that propelled his rise.

The artist is known for his fusion of African rhythms with Brazilian and pop elements, singing in Portuguese, English, and various national languages. Songs such as “"Xitchuketa Marrabenta"” and “"Happy girl"” They marked generations and established him as a true ambassador of Mozambican music.
