The event will take place at the SuperSport studios at 2:30 PM local time. A total of 48 nations, including the four winners of the "Play-offs" (Chad, Eswatini, Liberia, and South Sudan), will be divided into 12 groups of four teams each. These teams will compete intensely to secure a place in the final stage of the biggest sporting event on the African continent.
Among the nations confirmed for the draw are the current African champions, Ivory Coast, and other powerhouses such as Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, DR Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, and Ethiopia. The event will also feature Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The qualifying rounds are scheduled to begin in September 2024, determining the first 24 nations that will advance to compete in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in 2025.
