National Football Team Returns to the Field in March 2025

After withdrawing from the CHAN race, the Mozambique national football team has its next match scheduled for March 17, 2025. The opponent will be the Ugandan national team, in a crucial match for the race for the World Cup.

The match, valid for the fifth round of the group stage, will be played at the Zimpeto National Stadium in Maputo. Mozambique currently sits second in the group with 9 points, tied with Algeria, who leads the table based on head-to-head records. Mozambique's campaign so far includes three wins and one loss, suffered against Algeria at Zimpeto Stadium.

With ten rounds scheduled in this group stage, the match against Uganda marks the halfway point in the World Cup campaign. It will be an opportunity for the Mambas to solidify their position in the group and, potentially, overtake Algeria in the battle for top spot.

Fans' expectations are high, given the team's promising performance so far. The coach and the coaching staff have just over three months to prepare the group, adjust strategies, and ensure Mozambique is in top form for this important challenge.

The support of the Mozambicans will be essential to transform the Zimpeto National Stadium into a true cauldron, propelling the Mambas to another victory and keeping alive their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup.
