The tournament, which was supposed to start last night, was postponed due to lighting problems at the Estrela Vermelha pavilion. The participating teams unanimously decided that the conditions were not safe for the games to take place. In turn, the Maputo City Skating Association (APCM) expressed its displeasure with the clubs' position, arguing that there were sufficient conditions for the competition to begin.
The situation caught everyone by surprise, especially considering that the venue had undergone recent improvements, including the installation of new spotlights. Unfortunately, some bulbs burned out, and the remaining ones, already old, were unable to provide adequate lighting.
Committed to the safety and quality of the event, APCM promised to intervene again to resolve the lighting problems.
The postponed matches were Ferroviário-Katembe Hóquei and Estrela-Académica. The teams and fans are now awaiting a new date for the start of the tournament, with the expectation that all lighting problems will be resolved soon.
