In an interview with Radio Mozambique (RM), the president of the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF), Feizal Sidat, highlighted the ambitions for 2025, projecting an even more promising year than 2024 for Mozambican football.
Among the main objectives, Sidat highlighted the historic possibility of the Mambas qualifying for the World Cup. Currently, the national team shares the lead in the qualifying group with Algeria, both with 9 points. The Mambas will compete again in March 2025, in a decisive match against Rwanda, continuing their fight for a place in the World Cup.
Sidat also celebrated the team's achievement in securing its second consecutive qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), which will be held in Morocco next year. This performance reinforces the progress of national football in continental competitions.
During the interview, the president also announced that women's football will receive greater attention and support in 2025, an important step towards strengthening the sport in all categories.
Feizal Sidat concluded by reaffirming the FMF's commitment to consolidating the progress of Mozambican football, with the ambition of achieving historic feats and elevating national sport to new levels.
