Mozambican Female Presence in International Refereeing: Participation of Cacilda Fernando and Roda Mondlane in the African Women's Champions League

The African Women's Champions League features two Mozambican international referees: Cacilda Francisco Fernando and Roda Mondlane. Both were appointed to officiate the match between Malawi's Ascent Academy and Eswatini's Young Buffaloes, the first round of Group B of the regional qualifiers, held in Blantyre, Malawi's capital.

Cacilda Fernando, from Niassa province, will make her international competition debut, serving as the fourth official. The main referee for the match will be South African Nojabulo Ndela, while Roda Mondlane will serve as the first assistant. This is Roda's second time participating in this competition, having participated in the previous edition in Durban, South Africa. The refereeing team will be completed by Zambian Lumbizai Musava, who will serve as the second assistant.

The participation of Cacilda Fernando and Roda Mondlane in this tournament reinforces the presence of Mozambican referees in international competitions, contributing to the recognition of women's football and refereeing on the African continent.
