Hernâni da Silva and Sleam Nigger, members of the Pontas de Lança collective, shared a photo this morning at the airport, minutes before boarding for Chimoio, where tonight they will join fellow Maputo native Dynomite and local rappers Função Inversa and Tuz for a special hip-hop show.
The event, which will take place exactly one month after the official celebrations of the 50th anniversary of national independence, aims to keep the cultural flame of this historical milestone alive, now through the rhymes, beats and awareness of Mozambican rap.

Although the official celebrations took place on June 25th, it is this Thursday, July 25th, that the city of Chimoio transforms into the epicenter of urban culture, hosting this spectacle that unites established artists and local talents on the same stage.
More than just a show, the event is a moment of celebration, sharing, and resistance, reflecting the freedom gained in 1975 and its continuity through the voices of those who use hip-hop as a weapon of intervention and cultural identity.
Entry is free, and the local public is already showing great anticipation on social media, eager to witness this fusion of generations, styles, and realities in the same setting, in honor of half a century of independence.
