Mozambican international Renildo Mandava, who currently plays for Sunderland in England, used his social media to pay tribute to the city of Beira, on the day it celebrates 118 years since its elevation to city status.
In his post, the left-back highlighted his pride in being from Beira, describing it as a "beautiful, wonderful and unique" city, made up of hardworking, resilient and conquering people. "Enormous pride in being from Beira," wrote Renildo, underlining the strength and determination of the inhabitants of his homeland.

The player, who was born and raised in the Manga neighborhood, did not hide his gratitude for everything the city has provided to his life and to that of his fellow citizens.
