Born on April 30, 1982, in the Manjacaze district of Gaza province, Mr. Bow discovered his passion for music at a young age. Inspired by artists such as R. Kelly, Backstreet Boys, Tyrese, and Joe, he took his first steps in neighborhood music contests before diving into the world of hip-hop as MC Bow.
His journey took him from his homeland to Xai-Xai in 1999 and finally to the capital, Maputo, in 2001, where he found his permanent home. It was in Maputo that Mr. Bow made a remarkable transition from hip-hop to R&B, soul, and zouk, gaining prominence with hits like “Leicha”.
In 2007, he joined the N'estúdio group and released his first album, “Meu Sonho”, followed by the success of the album “Kota de Família” in 2010, which revolutionized the Marrabenta genre and earned him the title of best album. Over the years, Mr. Bow continued to accumulate awards and recognition, standing out in the most popular song category in the “Ngoma Moçambique 2011-2012” contest with “Nitati Dlaya” and again in 2013-2014 with “Bawito”.
In addition to his musical career, Mr. Bow is also known for his involvement in social causes, participating in charity events and awareness campaigns about HIV/AIDS and hunger.
Currently, in addition to being a renowned artist, Mr. Bow is the owner and CEO of V&Pro Mozambique, an advertising and marketing agency. His dedication to his art, his community, and his family, including his wife, Liloca, and his son, is truly inspiring.
As we celebrate Mr. Bow's 42nd birthday, it's an opportunity to reflect on his enduring influence on Mozambican music and to wish him continued success on his musical and personal journey. Happy birthday, Mr. Bow! 🎉🎶🎂
