Ninica Cuta and Lónika Vasco, former players for Costa do Sol and Ferroviário de Maputo, respectively, continue to shine in European football. The two Mozambicans were key players in Minsk's 2-0 victory over Dynamo Brest in the 17th round of the 2024 Belarusian Women's Football League, placing the team temporarily atop the standings with 45 points, equaling Dynamo Minsk, who are still playing today.
The goals were scored by Ulyana Asaula in the 11th minute and Maria Demidova in the 63rd. This match also served as preparation for the Belarusian Cup semi-final clash, where Minsk will face Dinamo Minsk next week.
Additionally, on September 7, Minsk will face Iceland's Breidablik in the first round of the 2024/2025 European Women's Champions League. If they win, they could face Sporting Lisbon from Portugal or Eintracht Lisbon from Germany in the next round. Only the group winner will advance to round 2, which grants access to the group stage of the competition.
