The Ordinary General Assembly of the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF), held in 2024, marked a crucial moment for the institution with the presentation of significant positive results. The main highlight was the substantial reduction of debts inherited from the previous administration, in addition to the proposal of a robust and sustainable budget for the 2025 fiscal year.
The financial report revealed a notable decrease in both current and inherited debt. Among the main achievements is the significant reduction of debt with the National Investment Bank (BNI), as well as the settlement of debts with hotels, travel agencies, and other entities. This positive evolution reflects careful and impartial management, which received approval from both the Fiscal Council and the independent auditing firm BDO, which assigned a positive assessment in its reports.
In addition to financial progress, the FMF highlighted a positive performance in fulfilling its 2023 activity plan. The institution made progress in several areas, including high-level competition, national teams, marketing and public relations, club licensing, and the technical, human resources, and legal departments. The efficient management demonstrated in all these sectors showed a commitment to the almost complete implementation of the initially outlined plan.
The future of the FMF is now focused on ensuring the financial sustainability and continued development of national football. The proposed budget for 2025, totaling MZN 399,015,500.00, reflects a strategic approach to investment and resource management. Key allocations include:
- Investments: MZN 142,500,000.00
- Services: MZN 85,276,000.00
- Transport: MZN 48,330,000.00
- Awards: MZN 19,000,000.00
- Competitions and Championships: MZN 19,380,000.00
The General Assembly reaffirmed the FMF's commitment to responsible management oriented towards the continuous progress of football in Mozambique. The implementation of this budget aims to consolidate the foundations for a more prosperous and sustainable future, marking a significant step towards strengthening and developing the sport in the country.
