MC Roger decided to take Eusébio Afonso Chipenete, known as Zebito, to court for defamation. The reason? Alleged defamatory statements made by Zebito, which led MC Roger to hire a lawyer and file a criminal lawsuit.
According to information obtained by Miramar, MC Roger intends to sue Zebito for defamation at the Maputo City Prosecutor's Office. The words attributed to Zebito, such as "he ate money with his mouth," and other public accusations, have led MC Roger to lose his temper and seek legal redress.
The musician claims that for the past five months, Zebito has participated in televised debates in which he describes him as someone with "deviant behavior in society, an example of failure for young people, a bankrupt, distracted, and a consumerist." For MC Roger, such statements are intended to tarnish his reputation and portray a total disorientation in his life.
Rogério Dinis, MC Roger's real name, argues that Zebito's words exceed the limits of freedom of expression, causing collateral damage to the psychological well-being of his daughters and other immediate family members, who now face bullying due to the public allegations.
In an interview with Miramar, MC Roger states that Zebito must bear the consequences of the damages caused and emphasizes that the financial compensation sought will be "significant." The musician is not only seeking justice for the defamation but also seeking to protect the emotional well-being of his family from the consequences of the accusations.
This courtroom clash not only reveals the severity of the impact of defamatory words on an artist's personal and professional life, but also highlights the need for a balance between freedom of expression and protection against unjustified damage to reputation. The outcome of this legal battle will be eagerly awaited by the artistic community and the general public.
