In this song, she presents an innovative approach that combines tradition and modernity, celebrating African culture through hip hop.
The newspaper News It brought the launch to its front pages, with the title: “"Iveth's new song celebrates Africa Day"”, highlighting the cultural and artistic impact of the song on the country's musical landscape.
The track also features special appearances by artists Bhaka and Lalah Mahigo, in a collaboration that reinforces the cultural manifesto present in the song, valuing Mozambican roots and identity.
Xingombela: The Dance that Inspires the New Track
The song title, “HIP HOP XINGOMBELA”, refers to the traditional Mozambican dance. Xingombela, This dance, originating in the province of Gaza and extending to the province of Maputo, was traditionally performed on moonlit nights by young people of both sexes, to the sound of drums, whistles, and xipalapalas—instruments made from gazelle or antelope horns.
