Kadoda: Between the Stage and the School – The Truth About the Education of the Kids Who Enchant Mozambique

The meteoric rise of the Kadoda group, made up of two talented kids who have been conquering the country with their new dance style of the same name, has sparked public curiosity and concern, particularly regarding their school life. Amidst applause and viral choreography, many internet users have asked: Do the Kadoda boys still go to school?

In contact with those responsible for the young artists' careers, the Apathany platform confirmed that, yes, the children are continuing their studies. The oldest is in 7th grade and the youngest is in 3rd, both attending primary school regularly, despite their demanding artistic schedules, which sometimes include traveling during the week.

A recent example was the event “Lizha Just Party”, held last Saturday in Xai-Xai. To participate, the children left Niassa province on Thursday, stopping briefly in Maputo before heading to Gaza on Friday—a logistical challenge that naturally compromises some school days. The situation raised even more questions among followers, who expressed concern about the education of these young talents.

However, according to the Kadoda group's career managers, there's a well-defined plan behind their artistic journey. The priority, beyond education, is to ensure that current income from shows is channeled toward creating a sustainable future for the children. The idea is to build a solid foundation, with a plan B that includes creating their own business for the young artists, should their artistic careers experience future upheavals.

“You should never put all your eggs in one basket”, say those in charge, emphasizing that the ultimate goal is to ensure long-term stability. Among their dreams is also obtaining scholarships that cover at least general education, allowing the boys to continue their studies in a more structured and secure manner.

The Kadoda group's case shows that it's possible to combine artistic talent and education, as long as there's responsible guidance and a vision for the future. Between the stage and their notebooks, the Kadoda boys continue to dance... and learn.
