José Guirrugo wins the Golden Glove of the 2024 Moçambola.

José Guirrugo was crowned the goalkeeper with the fewest goals conceded in the 2024 Moçambola, reaffirming his status as a key player in Ferroviário de Maputo's goal. The "locomotive" keeper had a remarkable performance throughout the season, conceding only 17 goals in 22 games, which gave him an average of 0.86 goals conceded per match.

With a total of 1980 minutes played, Guirrugo demonstrated consistency and security in goal, helping Ferroviário achieve its objectives in the competition. Winning the Golden Glove is a recognition of the goalkeeper's hard work and technical quality, overcoming strong competition from Joaquim of Costa do Sol.

Joaquim, who also had a great season, conceded 16 goals in 20 games, resulting in an average of 0.89 goals per game. Despite his good performance, he couldn't surpass Guirrugo, who was more consistent throughout the championship.

This achievement not only highlights Guirrugo as one of the best goalkeepers in Mozambican football, but also elevates the name of Ferroviário de Maputo, which continues to produce high-level talent.

Locomotive supporters celebrate the achievement of their goalkeeper, who promises to continue shining in the coming seasons and establish himself as a benchmark in his position in Mozambique and, who knows, beyond its borders.
