Paris 2024 Paralympic Games: Edmilsa Government shows she is prepared to face the trials

Sprinter Edmilsa Governo, a specialist in the 100 and 400 meters in the T13 class (visual impairments), will once again represent Mozambique at the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games, which began last Wednesday, August 28, in Paris 2024. This will be Edmilsa's third participation in the world's largest Paralympic sporting event, following the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 editions.

Edmilsa is determined to win the gold medal that eluded her in previous editions. She will compete in the 100 meters on September 4th and the 400 meters on September 7th. With her experience and rigorous preparation, the athlete is ready to fight for podium spots.

Expressing her confidence, Edmilsa asked Mozambicans to trust her and pray for her, assuring that she didn't come to play, but to show her hard work. "In every competition I participate in, I go with the intention of giving my best and winning a medal. I work hard and I trust my potential, as my results demonstrate," the athlete stated.

Edmilsa already won the bronze medal in the 400-meter T12 at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games. Now, with her accumulated experience, she aims to beat the 55-second time achieved by other competitors, aiming for times between 53 and 54 seconds to secure a top spot. With her determination and experience, Edmilsa Governo is ready to give her best in Paris and bring pride to her country.
