The little one Jennifer Rapper already know where yours will be classroom for the 2025 school year: under the shade of a tree. The image of children studying outdoors, without adequate infrastructure, It's nothing new in Mozambique and reflects a long-standing and persistent problem in public primary schools.
This reality, which “already has a white beard”, as many say, highlights the lack of investment in building decent classrooms for thousands of students. Despite the efforts of the government and various organizations, many schools still face difficulties, forcing children like Jennifer to study exposed to sun, rain and other adverse conditions.
Jennifer's story isn't unique. In several provinces across the country, children face the same challenges, learning in precarious conditions, but without losing their desire to study. The question remains: until when will this situation be seen as normal?
