The Mozambican pop-rock band INDIGO BLUE has released its first single, titled “GO”, marking a new phase in national music. The project is led by Xavier Machiana, former vocalist of the rock band Fellers, and brings together experienced musicians with backgrounds ranging from rock to jazz, gospel, and traditional Mozambican music.
Composed of Xavier Machiana (vocals), Sílvio Ferrão (guitar), Mole G Mussoco (bass), Ray Mauele (keyboards), Timóteo Cuche (saxophone), and Ivan Ferreira (drums), the band was formed in 2022 and has already participated in festivals in Maputo, bringing innovation to the country's musical landscape. The name INDIGO BLUE symbolizes values such as peace, integrity, and love, reflecting the message of harmony they transmit through their music.
The single “GO” is a contemporary pop-rock ballad, written during the Covid-19 pandemic, that addresses overcoming trauma and loss, focusing on the positive aspects of life. The production featured collaborations with artists such as Amável Pinto, Pappy Miranda, Realdo Salato, Vekina Manuel, and Helena Cuinica. Recorded and mastered in Maputo by Zacarias Paulo, the single is a Mozambican 100% product.
