Innovation has already begun to bear fruit. Uamusse enthusiastically announced his first official commission in this new artistic field: a portrait of Dr. José Manuel Amaral Lopes, director of the Camões Portuguese Cultural Centre in Maputo.
“"It is with great honor that I received a commission for a paper art portrait from Dr. José Lopes. He became the first person to request a work using my handmade paper technique. Thank you very much, Mr. José Manuel Amaral Lopes, for your support and trust in my work!", the artist wrote on social media.
Known for his creativity, versatility, and ability to transform everyday materials into works with strong symbolic meaning, Fredy continues to forge a path of authenticity and constant reinvention in Mozambican visual art.
The collaboration with the Camões Portuguese Cultural Centre, one of the most important institutions in promoting culture and artistic exchange in Mozambique, reinforces the importance and recognition of Uamusse's work, both nationally and internationally.
This new chapter in her career marks not only an evolution in her technique, but also a moment of appreciation for handmade paper as a means of artistic expression, promoting sustainability and Mozambican cultural identity through art.
