The program “Alô Família,” presented by Sérgio Faife, is known for exploring the stories of personalities who contribute to Mozambican culture. This afternoon, Sérgio Faife and his team visited the designer Fredy Uamusse, an innovative artist who has been gaining notoriety in the country's art scene.
Fredy Uamusse has distinguished himself through his unique techniques and creativity that transcend conventional drawing. Initially working with paper, he expanded his art to the floor, where he began drawing with unusual materials such as ash and charcoal. This change of medium allowed him to explore new limits of artistic expression, revealing a technique that has become his trademark.
Recently, Fredy took another innovative step in his career by starting to draw on mats using plastic. This new medium brought a distinct texture and visual impact, which attracted the attention of local personalities and artists. Among the faces that Fredy has already represented are well-known figures such as Twenty Fingers and Gabriel Júnior, among others. His works capture not only the visual appearance but also the essence of Mozambican personalities, making him a reference for creativity in the country.
During an interview with Sérgio Faife, broadcast on Sundays, Fredy shared his journey and the inspirations behind his art. He recounted how drawing became a form of expression and resistance, allowing him to communicate feelings and perspectives on Mozambican daily life. "Art is a way of giving voice to what is not said and of showing that talent can manifest itself in different ways," commented the artist.
