Fred Jossias celebrates 39 years of life

Mozambican presenter Fred Jossias celebrates his 39th birthday today, September 17, 2025. Born in Maputo in 1986, Fred built a solid career in the world of communications, marked by boldness, controversy, and a significant role in promoting Mozambican music.

From childhood, he displayed creative traits and a knack for communication. Besides enjoying drawing and soccer, he even played junior goalkeeper for Costa do Sol. It was at church that his family recognized his natural talent for public speaking.

His television debut was as a clown on Adélia Gil's show, before gaining notoriety by taking over as host of the program. “Attractions”, on TV Miramar. With an irreverent style, he revolutionized television by being the first presenter to broadcast 100% of Mozambican music, quickly gaining a prominent place.

The impact was recognized in 2010, when it won the category of “Best Presenter” us Mozambique Music Awards (MMA), while “Atrações” was elected “Best Musical Program”.

However, his boldness also brought moments of controversy. In 2014, he was fired from TV Miramar after allowing rapper Azagaia to smoke suruma live on the show. Shortly thereafter, he reinvented himself and, in 2015, debuted the show “Beats” on TV Sucesso, where he remained until 2020. That same year, he launched his own television channel, Your TV (TTV), consolidating its position as one of the most influential voices in the media in Mozambique.

His projection crossed borders, having been nominated, in 2020, for the category of “Africa’s Best Presenters” node African Entertainment Awards – USA (AEA USA).

Nicknamed “King of Beefs” Due to his direct and unfiltered style, Fred Jossias became an essential figure on Mozambican television, loved by some and criticized by others, but always with the ability to set the media agenda.

Today, upon turning 39, Fred Jossias celebrates not only another birthday, but also a trajectory that continues to influence the way communication and entertainment are done in Mozambique.
