May 6th, rapper Azagaia's birthday, was chosen as the official release date for the track honoring him, which will be available on all digital platforms starting this Tuesday. The track pays tribute to one of the most respected lyricists in Mozambique and the Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP), who passed away on March 9th, 2023.
The initiative was led by the marrabenta musician Tabasilly and had the participation of several Mozambican rappers who gathered to pay tribute to one of the most prominent voices in Mozambican music when it came to social and political criticism.
The track will be available starting this Tuesday on all digital platforms, and appears as a way of keeping Azagaia's legacy alive, whose work continues to be referenced in the country and in the diaspora.
