National Figures Join Young People in March Against New Internet Prices

A significant movement took over the streets of the capital city, where singers, TV hosts, comedians, and a host of other prominent figures joined young people in a march to protest recent internet price increases. Names like Clemente Carlos, Quitéria Guirengane, Tamyris Moiane, Puto Aires, Fred Jossias, Maxh, Lloyd Froy, Zainadine, among others, are leading this mobilization in search of a fair price for internet access in the country.

Rising internet prices have been a growing concern for Mozambican citizens, especially young people, who increasingly rely on online connectivity for education, work, communication, and entertainment. Given this reality, the march organized today represents a collective voice demanding change and equality in access to technology.

The presence of several public figures at the march highlights the importance and urgency of this issue. Singers, presenters, and comedians, recognized for their reach and influence, join the young people to amplify the message and attract the attention of authorities and internet service providers. Their presence not only increases the visibility of the protest but also demonstrates solidarity and support for the cause.

In an increasingly digital world, internet access is essential for personal, professional, and social development. Young Mozambicans, in particular, depend on the internet for access to education, employment opportunities, and participation in global society. Therefore, rising internet prices represent not only an economic issue but also a significant obstacle to the country's progress and development.

As they march through the streets of the capital city, protesters not only demand fair internet prices but also highlight the importance of connectivity as a basic right for all citizens. They are determined to continue fighting until their voices are heard and concrete steps are taken to ensure the internet remains accessible and affordable for everyone in Mozambique.
