Fermon Mondlane recovers copyright to one of his songs and appeals for respect for artistic work.

The Mozambican singer Fermon Mondlane publicly announced recovery of copyright of one of his songs, the rights to which had been, according to the artist himself, usurped by one of the television stations where the work was initially broadcast in Mozambique.

The situation prevented Fermon from using his own music for his own benefit, including posting it on social media and licensing it for other projects.“In the past, copyright had been usurped by one of the TV stations… I, the author, could no longer use it for my own benefit, nor even post it.”, he explained.

The case came to light after a South African company expressed interest in using the music in an advertising spot. During the process, irregularities in the management of rights were detected, which prevented the formalization of the contract.

Despite the inconvenience, Fermon chose not to publicly disclose the names of the institutions involved., emphasizing that he is not a fan of confrontations or controversies: “I never liked beefs, noise, or bad publicity.”.

In the same statement, the artist left a I appeal for respect for content creators., inviting individuals and institutions to make direct contact for legitimate partnerships.
