Happy Birthday, Teknik: Celebrating 40 Years Old

Today is a special day for Mozambican hip-hop fans, as we celebrate the birthday of one of the most influential and respected names in the scene: Teknik. Born on May 29, 1984, Teknik turns 40 years old, marking four decades of dedication and passion for music.

Teknik's history in the world of hip-hop dates back to his childhood, when his interest in the genre was sparked by Vanilla Ice's success with "Ice Ice Baby" in the 90s. Since then, his artistic journey has been a rollercoaster of experiences and achievements, shaping him not only into a talented rapper, but also into a prolific and visionary producer.

His start as a rapper dates back to the mid-90s, when he began writing his first lyrics. But it was in 2001-2002 that he took his first significant steps by joining the group Deuses do Hip-Hop. Later, he founded Legião Vermelha with his friend K9, where they recorded songs that left a lasting impact on the Mozambican hip-hop scene.

Over the years, Teknik has demonstrated his versatility and creativity through songs such as “Fresh Part 1, 2 and 3”, “I'm One of The Best”, “Muzika de Batalha” and many others. His ability to excel in different styles and his striking presence in collaborations have helped solidify his position as one of the leading names in Mozambican rap.

In addition to his musical contributions, Teknik is also recognized for his leadership skills and entrepreneurial vision. His founding of 9mm and his involvement with Holla Back Records and Outro Mundo Produções are testaments to his determination to propel the hip-hop scene to new heights.

As Teknik celebrates his 40th anniversary, his fans eagerly await his upcoming projects, including the highly anticipated mixtape “Teknik Since 2002” and his future album. His recent collaboration with rapper Kloro Kila promises to bring even more quality music to his loyal followers.

Therefore, on this special day, we want to wish Teknik a happy birthday and express our gratitude for his contributions to Mozambican hip-hop. May he continue to inspire and uplift the music scene with his unique artistry and unwavering passion for rap. Congratulations, Teknik!
