Today, Luís José Miquissone, a player for União Desportiva do Songo, celebrates his 29th birthday. Born in Tete on July 25, 1995, Miquissone is one of the most prominent Mozambican footballers of today.
His career began in 2014 when he made his professional debut for União Desportiva do Songo. In his first season, he helped the team win the national championship and the Mozambique Cup, repeating the feat in 2016 and 2019. His talent attracted attention, leading him to explore other leagues.
Internationally, Miquissone played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United in South Africa, without officially playing for those teams, and made one appearance for Royal Eagles. In January 2020, he signed with Simba SC in Tanzania and had spells at Al-Ahly in Egypt and Abha Club in Asia.
For the Mozambican national team, Miquissone was part of the Under-20 team and, since 2015, has been part of the senior team, where he is the fifth highest scorer, with 9 goals in 34 matches.
Currently, Miquissone returns to União Desportiva do Songo for the second half of the national championship. On this special day, we wish Luís Miquissone a happy birthday and much success. May his career continue to shine and may he continue to inspire young talents in Mozambican football. Congratulations, Luís!
