Today, we celebrate the birthday of Hélder Leonel, born on October 28, 1975. Recognized for his essential role in the Mozambican cultural scene, Hélder is one of the great names at Radio Mozambique, working at Radio Cidade and actively contributing to the growth and strengthening of the Hip-Hop movement in Mozambique.
With a career dedicated to promoting culture, Hélder is much more than a radio professional. He is a cultural journalist, sociologist, rapper, and master of ceremonies, influential in defining Hip-Hop in Maputo and other regions of the country. Married and father of two daughters, his journey encompasses various areas of communication and culture, including experience in Institutional Communication at the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences of UEM, as well as the production and presentation of major events and festivals.
Since 1998, he has been the producer, presenter, and sound engineer for the Clássico Hiphoptime program on Cidade FM, 97.9, a space that has become a reference point for lovers of the genre. More than just a radio program, Clássico Hiphoptime is a meeting point for Hip-Hop, uniting generations and promoting the work of local artists.
Hélder is also dedicated to activism in favor of peace, reconciliation, and social cohesion, promoting debates and exchanges about artistic and cultural production, encouraging expression and unity through art.
On this special day, we celebrate not only his birthday, but also the impact Hélder Leonel has had on Mozambican culture and society. May his path continue to inspire and transform!
