Mozambican Football Federation Honors Commitments and Rewards Players After Victory Over Botswana

The Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) announced today that it has honored its commitments, ensuring that each player receives a bonus of MZN 80,000.00 (eighty thousand meticais) in accordance with the FMF's bonus regulations. This bonus is a result of the "Mambas'" 3-2 victory over Botswana in the first round of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held in Francistown.

The outstanding performance in the thrilling match against Botswana highlighted the FMF Executive Board's commitment to recognizing and valuing the dedicated efforts of the athletes representing the country. The award represents not only financial recognition but also a gesture of appreciation for the dedication and hard work demonstrated by the players on the field.

After the game, the President of the FMF, Feizal Sidat, commented on the victory and the challenge the players faced: “It was a hard-fought victory, they played in intense heat. Winning away from home is not easy, but they did everything in their power to achieve our goal, which was to secure the three points.”

The president also took the opportunity to encourage continued support from the Mozambican community, especially in light of the upcoming match. “Now we will focus on the game next Sunday at 3:00 PM against Algeria at the Zimpeto National Stadium. We count on the support of all Mozambicans,” stated Sidat.

By fulfilling its commitments to award prizes, the FMF not only demonstrates its seriousness in recognizing the players' performance, but also encourages a culture of valuing athletes. This positive gesture contributes to strengthening sportsmanship and promoting the continued dedication of players in representing the nation.

With the victory over Botswana as momentum, eyes are now on the next challenge against Algeria, and the expectation is that the "Mambas" will continue to shine on the international stage. Unity and community support will play a crucial role on the road to success in qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
