Journalist Leonardo Gimo passed away on Saturday night (15), victim of illness, at the Maputo Central Hospital (HCM), where he had been hospitalized for several months. Gimo was a correspondent for TV Sucesso in the city of Nampula and stood out for his directness and professionalism in the exercise of his profession.
Recognized for his commitment to information and courage in the face of challenges, Gimo faced numerous persecutions and intimidations throughout his career, without ever abandoning his journalistic principles.
His passing leaves a significant void in Mozambican journalism, especially in the northern region of the country, where he dedicatedly carried out his mission of informing. He leaves behind a widow.
Nampula Governor Eduardo Mariamo Abdula expressed his condolences to the bereaved family, expressing his condolences to Gimo, who was recognized for his work in the province's media.
Mozambican journalism loses an active voice, but his legacy will live on in the memory of colleagues and the society that followed his work.
