Faizal Sidat, candidate for re-election as President of the Mozambican Football Federation.

In the electoral race for the presidency of the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF), Faizal Sidat emerges as a determined candidate to lead the sports entity in the pursuit of a new level for Mozambican football. In a recent interview, Sidat highlighted his achievements and visions for the future of the sport in the country, emphasizing his approach focused on continuous development.

Sidat, a renowned businessman and prominent figure in Mozambique's sports scene, emphasized his dedication to football, stating: "I'm not very political, I'm very much into football." He highlighted his successful track record managing the national team, securing qualifications for major competitions. Under his leadership, the national team achieved victories and demonstrated remarkable performance.

One of Sidat's key promises is to continue the changes initiated in 2019. He clearly expressed that his goal is to "continue what I haven't finished yet." This suggests a commitment to building upon the foundations established during his previous administration.

In addition to his commitment to football, Sidat also shared ambitious plans for the development of sports infrastructure. He revealed that the FMF plans to soon build three fields, a hotel, and several shops in Zimpeto, highlighting the importance of partnerships to make such projects viable.

One of the crucial issues addressed by Sidat was financial responsibility. He mentioned the debts left by his previous administration and how he is personally taking responsibility for them. Sidat emphasized his determination not to leave any outstanding debts at FMF and the need to avoid bank loans to maintain the organization's financial health.

It is interesting to note that Sidat also highlighted the candidacy of his opponent, Namoto, and challenged him to become more actively involved in the sporting scene, stating: “Namoto is a candidate, let him go out there and not stay here in Maputo relaxing.” This remark suggests that Sidat is ready to face the competition and keep sport at the center of his leadership.
