The Mayor of Chimoio welcomes the artists who will represent the city at the National Hip-Hop Festival "Punhos no Ar" (Fists in the Air).

The President of the Municipal Council of the City of Chimoio, Engineer John Ferreira, received this Friday morning the local artists who will represent the city at 10th edition of the National Hip-Hop Festival Punhos no Ar, event scheduled for the day August 9th, no Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center, in the city of Maputo.

During the meeting, the mayor encouraged the artists to continue using their works for to raise the name of Chimoio, "You play an important role in valuing our identity. Continue to create with authenticity and dedication," João Ferreira emphasized, promoting the city's culture beyond its borders.

The mayor also expressed the commitment of the municipality in continuously supporting local artists, recognizing the positive impact of urban culture on social development and youth.

The artists present expressed their gratitude for the gesture and the attention given to hip-hop culture. For them, the moment was significant and represents an important recognition from the local government. “It’s an honor to be received in the mayor’s office. This support further strengthens the Chimoio Hip-Hop Community,” stated one of the representatives.
