The President of the Maputo Municipal Council, Rasaque Manhique, made a special visit to the writer on Wednesday, July 16th Paulina Chiziane, in a gesture of recognition for his remarkable contribution to Mozambican literature and culture.

During the meeting, the mayor expressed the honor of being alongside a prominent figure in national literature, declaring:

“It’s good and it feels good to be with Paulina Chiziane.”

More than just an institutional meeting, the visit was an opportunity to listen to aspirations and concerns of the first Mozambican woman to publish a novel, whose work has impacted not only the country, but also the African continent and the world.
