Costa do Sol will be in action this afternoon at 4:30 PM against Matero Magic of Zambia, in their debut in the group stage of the first qualifying window for the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The match will take place at the Zimbabwe Sports Centre in Harare.
With a familiar opponent, given that Matero Magic has faced Ferroviário da Beira in past editions of the competition, the Mozambican team starts with some knowledge of the Zambian team's playing style. For this campaign, Costa do Sol has strengthened its squad with players Elvis “Stam” Houana and Ayad Munguambe, from Ferroviário da Beira, in addition to winger Álvaro Maso.
The competition follows a round-robin format, with each team playing each other once, and the two best-placed teams from each group qualify for the next phase, called Elite 16, which will take place between November 12th and 17th.
