Euler João Elias, better known as Trez Agah (3H), is one of the biggest names in Mozambican hip-hop, a member of the renowned group GPRO. Born on April 29, 1983, in the province of Manica, Trez has a career marked by passion, perseverance, and great talent, establishing himself as a leading figure in Mozambican rap.
The Beginning of Everything
Trez Agah's passion for hip-hop began in 1996, but his fascination with music dates back to his childhood, influenced by iconic names in pop music such as Milli Vanilli, MC Hammer, and Michael Jackson. During primary school, which he completed in England, he took his first steps in the musical world, singing in playground circles while his friends danced.
Returning to Mozambique in 1994, his time with friends in Maputo brought him new musical influences, especially rap. In 1996, a gift would mark a turning point in his life: a cassette of the legendary 2Pac Shakur, given to him by Félix, also known as Carbhono. This discovery sparked in Trez the desire to create and explore the world of hip-hop.
From Early Alliances to Early Stages
It was during parties and events that Trez began to attract attention, imitating compositions by American rappers. However, it was the encouragement of Shot B, a close friend, that motivated him to create his own rhymes. In 1999, he joined the BOC collective, alongside Carbhono and Mastha Bad, and began recording his first songs.
Despite the difficulties imposed by the closed circuit of Mozambican rap, Trez persisted. Often rejected by radio announcers, he found the strength to continue and conquer his space. In 2000, after impressing Denny OG with his talent, he was invited to join the group Tropas do Futuro, marking another significant step in his career.
Ascension at GPRO
In 2002, Trez Agah joined GPRO, where he found the space to shine. His performances alongside Duas and Sem highlighted him as an unstoppable force in the Mozambican rap scene. With the singles “Por Ti”, “Let's Go” and “Bangalala”, released in 2005, Trez established himself as one of the “heavyweights” of the movement.
His talent as a lyricist and freestyler was reinforced in 2007 with the release of "100 Barras" on the track "Eu Só Peço Volume," part of the GPRO Radio Promo CD. In 2010, he was part of the collective album Na Linha da Frente, reaffirming his commitment to Mozambican identity and the evolution of national rap.
The Legacy
Currently, Trez Agah is working on GPRO's third collaborative album project, whose release promises to bring together the best of the group's essence. The CD single, already available, features tracks such as "Forever," "Blue Magic," and "Zona Quente," accompanied by music videos that illustrate his artistic vision.
With a career marked by resilience and innovation, Trez Agah is much more than a rapper; he is a voice that transcends barriers and inspires generations in the Mozambican hip-hop scene.
