Maxaquene Sports Club Begins Improvement Works on Football Field in Downtown Maputo

Clube dos Desportos da Maxaquene, a century-old club with a rich history in Maputo's sporting scene, is about to begin improvement works on its emblematic football field, located in the city center. This project marks the first step in the ambitious Strategic Plan led by the team headed by Abraão Muianga, aimed at modernizing and revitalizing the club's infrastructure.

The project, scheduled to begin at the end of this month, will focus primarily on improving the pitch at the "tricolores" field. This initiative will not only benefit club members but also the local community, providing a quality space for sports and social events.

According to Fernando Simbine, Vice-President for Football, the club has already secured more than 60 percent of the budget needed for the construction work. The remaining 40 percent is being raised through a joint effort with club members and other partners. This collaborative effort highlights the commitment and dedication of club members and supporters in investing in the future of local sport.

For Clube dos Desportos da Maxaquene, these works represent more than just physical improvements; they are a symbol of the ongoing commitment to providing high-quality facilities for its athletes and the community at large. Furthermore, they reflect a vision of a brighter and more promising future for sport in Maputo, where the development of sports infrastructure plays a fundamental role.

As Clube dos Desportos da Maxaquene moves forward with its Strategic Plan, it is expected that these works will usher in a new era of excellence and prosperity for the community and inspire other sports institutions to follow suit, investing in the growth and modernization of their infrastructure. The football field in downtown Maputo is poised to become a landmark for local sport, uniting the community around the love of football and the spirit of healthy competition.
