Chiquinho Conde could be in charge of the national team until January 2026

Chiquinho Conde's new contract is expected to run until the end of January 2026, when the CAN-2025, to be hosted by Morocco, will end.

The event will take place in that North African country from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

Therefore, the FMF must propose to Chiquinho Conde a contract based on objectives, which involves qualifying the “Mambas” for the CAN-2025.

Within the general clause, the FMF will include as an exception to terminate the contractual relationship the mathematical impossibility of the National Team qualifying for the 2025 AFCON. That is, if during the qualifying campaign the "Mambas" find themselves in a situation where mathematically they can no longer qualify, Chiquinho Conde's contract will be automatically terminated.

It is worth noting that Chiquinho Conde signed his first contract with FMF on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, as a replacement for the Portuguese Horácio Gonçalves, current coach of Costa do Sol.

At the time, the parties signed a contract based on objectives, which required the “Mambas” to qualify for the Algeria-2022 CHAN and the Ivory Coast-2023 CAN.
