Mozambican artists express their support for comedian Gilmário Vemba after he was denied entry into the country.

Angolan comedian Gilmário Vemba was prevented from entering Mozambique after landing at Mavalane International Airport, where he was scheduled to perform in the country. The incident shocked fans and led some Mozambican artists to publicly express their support for the comedian.

“"My Mozambican brothers, sorry for the inconvenience... starting tomorrow your refunds will be processed through the same channels you used to purchase your tickets. Best regards and see you as soon as possible 🙏🏾🙏🏾," Gilmário wrote in a note of clarification and thanks to his fans, shared on social media.

Among the Mozambican artists who reacted is Fermon Mondlane, who lamented the episode:
“Strength Gilmário Vemba🇦🇴. As a Mozambican artist, I deeply regret the situation at our airport🇲🇿”, wrote the singer.

Mozambican rapper Rei Bravo also spoke out, sharing the following comment:
“They take pleasure in showing fear in others 😏 And there are those who support this 😏”, expressing his frustration with the way the case was handled.

Mozambican comedian Hélder Jantar also joined the voices of solidarity, addressing not only Gilmário, but also comedians Hugo Sousa (Portugal) and Murilo Couto (Brazil), who would be on the same program:
“On behalf of all Mozambicans, I sincerely and deeply apologize to GILMÁRIO VEMBA🇦🇴, HUGO SOUSA🇵🇹, and MURILO COUTO🇧🇷. This country🇲🇿 is a complete disgrace. Unfortunately, we live oppressed even as its owners. In fact, we don't even know if we are its true owners💔. We regret what happened. 😥🙏🏾🙏🏾”

The situation generated a wave of comments on social media, with many citizens asking for clarification and greater transparency regarding the criteria applied at national borders, especially regarding public figures with a history of peaceful visits and cultural contributions to the country.

Without directly assigning blame, the artists reinforce the importance of hospitality and cultural openness as bridges of connection between sister countries, calling for a more welcoming and respectful environment for those who come to share art with the Mozambican people.
