Born Edy Alan Simões on August 31, 1989, in Maputo, Mozambique, Allan Genesis is an extraordinary rapper who has won the hearts of Hip-Hop lovers with his unparalleled flow and hard-hitting lyrics. Since his first steps in the music scene in 2007, his passion for music, and especially for Hip-Hop, has been evident.
Allan began his musical career under the influence of friends and schoolmates, but his love for music, which has been rooted in his childhood, has led him down a remarkable path. A crucial phase of his journey included his association with the group Classic La Família, between 2009 and 2016, during which time they released the album "Agora ou Nunca" (Now or Never). One of the songs from this album, "Run," received nominations for Best Music Video at the Mozambique Music Awards in 2014.
In 2017, Allan took control of his career and prioritized his solo album "Genesis." This brilliant album, co-produced by talented individuals such as Ell Puto (Sameblood), Vanny Beats, Key Beatz, Fly Beats, and Edson Rise, showcases his artistic versatility. The album featured collaborations with renowned artists like Hernâni da Silva, Case Buyakah, Kloro, and Dicesão, who contributed to further elevating the project's greatness.
One of Allan's most notable career achievements was his promotional song for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers. This song demonstrated not only his commitment to art, but also his support for sport and his nation.
In addition to being an influential figure in the music industry, Allan Genesis is a dedicated social activist and entrepreneur. He is involved in the production of musical events and is one of the pillars behind Rapódromo, a breakdancing/freestyle league in Mozambique. His impact on Hip-Hop culture is so immense that he is remembered as one of the three best rappers in Mozambique, alongside Two Caras.
On Allan Genesis' birthday, we celebrate not only his remarkable musical journey, but also his dedication to the community and his ability to transcend the boundaries of music. His presence on the musical and social scene continues to inspire generations, making him a true icon of Mozambican Rap.
