She acknowledged the difficulty of achieving an Olympic medal and apologized for not exceeding the expectations of her supporters. “I'm sorry for failing. I know many were counting on this title,” she stated.
The athlete made a point of especially thanking her family, including her mother Helena, aunt Sofia, father Lucas, fiancé Alfredo Sitoe, and other loved ones, as well as her friends and boxing colleagues who supported her throughout her preparation. "Thank you so much to my family, my mother Helena, aunt Sofia, my dad Lucas, my fiancé Alfredo Sitoe, my cousins, neighbors and friends, all my colleagues and boxing collaborators," said Panguana, highlighting the importance of each person in her journey.
Despite the disappointment, Panguana concluded his message with an appeal for everyone to remain united in support of the other Mozambican athletes, Deisy Nhaquile and Stiven Sabino, who are still competing. "Let's continue to stand together for Deisy Nhaquile and Stiven Sabino because they still need us," he encouraged.
