Get ready for a musical experience with Iveth in her performance “Longa Caminhada” (Long Walk), on May 11th at 7:00 PM, on the stage of Espaço Cultural 16NetO.
Iveth will bring an innovative approach, combining instrumentals with her voice.
A concert that also opens the doors for the arrival of his second album entitled ENTRE(TANTO), a symbiosis of Hip-hop, Xingombela, Marrabenta, Afro Beat and Reggae.
“It was a long journey.
Tears, rumors, I've already been labeled with a bad reputation.
I've found myself alone on this road before.
"With the cross of female hip-hop being dragged"”
Words taken from Iveth's 2010 album "O Convite," the 3rd track from her first original album, Longa Caminhada.
This song, sung, experienced, and analyzed from Iveth's perspective, portrays her career and past challenges, both overcome and persistent, as a woman, rapper, and owner of a career that transcends art and is reflected in formal life, in the academic gowns she seeks, and in her teaching, sharing and receiving knowledge.
From the 90s to the present day, a journey has been made, evolving just as Mozambican hip-hop has evolved, keeping the flame alive and burning.
A long walk symbolizes a journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and overcoming challenges where patience, determination, and resilience are key ingredients. The important thing is to keep going! Onward to Eldorado, where it's possible to be and make things happen.
The musical concert “Longa Caminhada” also opens the doors for the arrival of his second album entitled ENTRE(TANTO).
Having retired for over 5 years, Iveth immersed herself in academia, law, motherhood, and marriage, experiencing complex and significant realities. It is this "in-between" period that is being described within the context of political changes in Mozambique, economic crisis, and the exaltation of being and evolving as such.
A symbiosis of hip-hop, xingombela, marrabenta, afro beat and reggae, Iveth illustrates a mature evolution of her artistic persona.
