Mozambican singer Anita Macuácua publicly praised the work of so-called human statues, a form of artistic expression increasingly visible in different urban spaces.
In recent contact with these artists, Anita highlighted the beauty and impact they have on the places where they perform. “"They are truly beautiful, filling the places they pass with grace. There they were... I loved seeing them and I'm so glad they allowed me to pet them. Stay strong, keep gracing us with your brilliance."”, he shared.
Human statues are performers who, through stillness, characterization, and discipline, capture the public's attention and transform public spaces into stages. In Mozambique, this practice has gained visibility, especially in squares, fairs, and events, bringing art closer to the community.
Anita Macuácua's recognition reinforces the importance of supporting alternative cultural manifestations, which contribute to the country's artistic diversity and value talents that find their place in the streets.
